13 Months

Yesterday, Makafui turned 13 months. I didn't take pictures or post about it. How lame is that? Boogietot is as busy as ever and discovering more and more.

Today, he started walking!!! He's pretty proud of this trick and we are too!

He has also started falling a lot. :-/ When he falls forward, he lands on his knees, no biggie. When he falls backward though, he doesn't crumple and land on his butt, he stiffens his body like a board and slams his head on ground. :( Booo! We've already had a few doozies and it makes us all sad.

He has started doing pull-ups on our glass top dining table. Impressive. Dangerous. I need to take pictures of the set and see if we can manage a craigslist trade or something.

Going to the Y is a hit, we even have a real schedule again...with a predictable nap time. What, WHAT?!?!

Makafui recognizes the color of G's car. Today, he saw another bright blue vehicle in the parking lot and got very excited, yelling "Dada!" Unfortunately for him, it wasn't. I was impressed/proud/sad-poor kid was pretty let down.

At the store today, he spotted his favorite snack (applesauce pouches) and pretty much begged me for them! It was so funny. Again, I was very impressed that he could spot them among all the different items, and I'm glad I had already planned on buying them because I don't want to know what he would have done if we just kept walking.

He has started combing my hair. It's pretty sweet and only a little painful.

He has started giving these sweet back pats/massages and it's totally adorable.

We are both pretty hooked on the baby laptop he got for his Birthday, that thing goes with us to many, many places! He likes V for Vulture the most.

He still doesn't like cow's milk. I'm not being too aggressive with it though.

He officially met his new cousin this week. He likes to give her her space.

Two molars are through and he's working on the other side. We have good days and bad days with this whole teething thing!

Makafui helps to undress himself. He can pull the shirt over his (big) head once his arms are out of it. Again, and obviously, I'm pretty impressed.

I barely trimmed M's hair above his ears this week and it was quite the trip! G and I both had to wrestle him into a spot that allowed me to trim it up. Sheesh! Hoping we don't need to do that again anytime soon!

Speaking of hair, Makafui likes to bring me his hair products and hold them up to his hair all the time, he also tries to comb those gorgeous curls. Boy needs to look good!

The next month will hold so much for us as Makafui masters walking, likely starts running, graduates to the toddler nursery at church *sniff* *sniff* and keeps on being his curious self! Here we go!

i can't believe he is walking!!!
seems like he just oozes personality. and oh how i wish meg liked having her hair brushed, she acts like i'm cutting off a body party every time i even get the brush out, so i don't even try anymore. she is working on a nice little dread lock in the back.
