15 Months!

Okay, I'm super lame at the month posts now that we're over a year. :-/

Here goes anyway. At 15 months...

-Makafui is talking quite a bit! His latest words include: soccer, Gigi, oh well, Turkey, mine, water, doggie and car.

-He eats bananas! He has never liked bananas, but now, he suddenly does.

-He's quite the climber. He can now climb on top of the coffee table, onto the chairs on the patio and up Gigi's oven.

-He usually only takes 1 nap a day, for around an hour.

-He loooooves water! Drinking it, playing in it, seeing fish in it, washing hands, whatever. Any kind of water and he's delighted!

-Brushing teeth continues to be a favorite. He'll steal any toothbrush he can get his hands on and will brush as much as possible. If we are brushing our teeth and he doesn't have a toothbrush, he'll stick his finger in his mouth and pretend.

-Big girls (especially 5 year olds) are the coolest to him. He will gladly leave me and my sight to march after and watch a 5 year old girl play. Annie and cousin Addy top his list.

-His dancing skills are becoming more and more impressive. Anytime he hears music, he'll just break out dancing!

-We've started letting him watch Curious George a little more regularly. It's been a good thing for all of us. On Saturdays we put him in the highchair with Cheerios, turn on Curious George and see if we can clean the house in that magical 22 minutes. :)

-He still nurses a few times a day.

-He still fights bedtime at least half of the time.

-He also still falls asleep in the car, a lot. I've learned that if he's only been asleep for 10ish minutes, I can peel him out of the car seat and take him to his room. If he's been sleeping longer than that, no dice.

-He hates grass. It's actually pretty cool, like an invisible fence along the sidewalk. :)

-Lately he's been talking on the phone a lot. He'll grab one of our phones and just jibber-jabber away, then wait for the other person to talk and continue. He even talks with his hands. It's pretty stinkin' cute!

-He really likes to flush the toilet. I'm hoping this leads to a general interest in the potty and using it...sooner rather than later.

-He loves his cousin Hannah Kate and is very sweet and gentle with her. I love watching them and look forward to the days when they can actually play together.

-He's an all around very happy kid. He laughs constantly and seems to always have a big ol' grin on his face!

-For the small percentage of time he's not happy, I would say we get pretty typical "terrible twos" behavior. We are trudging through how to deal with that and what needs disciplined vs. what needs to be ignored. It's not always easy.

We've been having so much fun together, that I have not been taking very many pictures. I will really truly, try to take more!!
