Catch up!

It's April and time to blog again! Taking a cue from my Mama, a random blog is in order.

-I'v been staying busy with Makafui. We've had a lot of fun hitting up the Y, hanging out with Tiffany and Hannah Kate, lunch dates with Daddy, walks, park time, MOPS and whatever else we fancy.

-Boy really loves water from Starbucks, you know, the ice and green straw just make it taste better than home water!

-My Birthday is this week. I'm determined to make it better than last year! I'm trying to think of the most fun (and delicious) things to do with Makafui.

-My sister and soon-to-be-sister are treating me to a new hairstyle for my Birthday! I am very excited and blessed by them.

-It hit me the other day that my sister and I are close, like really close. We purposefully see each other several times a week, hang out, talk, text....you know, like friends! Once upon a time, I never thought that would be possible (and I'm sure she would say the same). Now, we are real friends and we're raising our babies to be real friends too! God is good and people really do change. :)

-I let Makafui play with my makeup brushes while I'm getting ready and he lost my very favorite one!! I can't find it anywhere!

-We did bluebonnet pictures last week...just babies and Mamas since the guys don't give a care. It reminded me so much of my Nonnie who LOVED these beautiful Texas Bluebonnets! I miss her.

This is all we could manage last year...

We did a lot better this year. :)

He's doing a good job protecting Cousin HK

-Makafui started night waking again last week...most nights he would be awake for THREE hours straight before finally giving it up and going back to sleep. It was NOT fun. Last night, he slept right through, I hope he's done with that little trick.

-My parents put railing around their porch and got a water table. It's amazing!! We are loving using their porch and playing outside. I hope we can have a porch that cool one day.

-Makafui graduated to a big ol' convertible car seat. This means no more easily taking the seat out of the car and putting it into a shopping cart. I have driven around in circles several times already so he can get a full nap in. I also carried him in a store the other day, it hurt later...won't be doing that again!

-My 6 week old niece sleeps 6-7 hour stretches at night. It's a good thing that she's a year younger than Makafui, because if that were happening while M was her age, I'm not sure that I would adore her as much as I do. ;)

-I loved spending time with my Big Bro and his SO last weekend. We really need to make a point to spend time with them more often. I hate how life makes a 3 hour drive "too much" at times.

-Which speaking of driving. Makafui made it to Dallas just fine, San Antonio too. But Marble Falls?! He screamed most of the 1 hour drive home from the Strawberry Farm. Really?!

-I think M gets cuter everyday. I still look at him and just can't get over how freaking adorable he is!

- I MIGHT have gotten myself into another Half Marathon...maybe....My sister put it on her blog, so does that make it official?

-I love my MOPS group. Love them. Taking summer off will be hard.

-The other day a friend of mine said, "Control is such an illusion, but it's an illusion that I LOVE!" Truth.

-I've been pondering a lot lately (what else is new).

-Someone who I though was wise at the time, once told me that God used/uses famine to drive His people out of a land, into something new...better. I liked that when I heard it. I don't know what I think about that now.

-My husband is truly amazing. Truly.

-My parents are such a wonderful encouragement, I am so blessed by them.

-We have some very special visitors coming in from Ghana next weekend. I am excited for their visit. I'm not gonna lie (and I'm fairly certain they don't read this, so I'll go ahead and put it out there) I'm also a little nervous! I want to be a really good hostess but I feel a little out of my league. They are very kind and gracious people, so I shouldn't be worried....but I am!

-I crack up whenever I look through the pictures on George's phone and see stuff like this...there were soooo many pictures of M in front of the car. Where was I and why is he outside without shoes on?

-I have been super lame at taking pictures lately. :( Boo!
